The project that we are cooperating on is the implementation and development of a global enterprise Facilities Management solution in the ServiceNow store in which the 4th largest European bank with a global presence in over 60 countries utilizes. The Facility Management Application has features from room reservation to parking lot assignment to invoicing vendors and cost centers, to name but a few and helps the bank manage all areas of their real estate portfolio.

The development team consists of 12 developers (based in Portugal, Spain, and the Netherlands) that are working with the end Customer to tailor the final product. To ensure the application quality, the client needed a Quality Assurance professional service provided by consultants with detailed experience in ServiceNow, QA practices and processes. The service onboarding deadline was extremely short – less than 2 weeks while making sure Synergyc’s team fits within the development and company’s culture properly.

The Solution

After a discussion with the client, Synergyc was able to identify the key points needed for the success of the project and formulated an optimal solution. We identified Synergyc’s consultants that have an extensive history of providing QA services for our clients. Our QA team was brought up to speed on the client scope and particularities. The core responsibilities of the solution team are to test all stories created by the development team (12 FTE’s). If the test is successful, the story is marked ready to be deployed in the sprint. Synergyc is the sole owner of the Regression test plan; writing test scripts for new functionality/epics, coordinating testers and ensuring the application health prior to the next r elease. Besides the testing component, Synergyc will suggest technical or procedural enhancements to enhance the user’s experience ranging from layout to process improvements.

To ensure this, our services contain a project management element with the goal to integrate with our client. Internally we have daily recaps to identify potential roadblocks. On a weekly basis, we have a governance meeting with the client to review performance, align on open topics and review the weekly KPI dashboard. On a monthly basis, we consolidate weekly reviews so that upper management has a clear view of progress and performance.

The Result

The two clear benefits are the speed to onboard and the quality of work. Our team allows the developers to create, knowing that there is a layer to ensure the application quality. Coming into the team with a different perspective Synergyc was able to identify opportunities for the application to explore potentially enhancing the product.
